Go to some of the local golf courses, take a look at the set up and what the bag room, range, and cart guys do to make sure it/s what you want to do. Then let the golf staff know you intentions and try to meet the head pro, but don't force it. Catch him at a time, when he appears not to be busy. You need to be quick and professional. Also getting to know the other cart guys can go along way. A lot of the times the pro depends on them for recommendations. When you get a job, take a look at how the other guys work with the members. Some places do not want you to socialize with them. Some places go through a lot of people, so if you get fired, just learn and go to the next one. Once your in the system you can move around. Use your current you to get the one you want.

tell them that you are looking to become a golf pro or that you are trying to get a scholarship to play in college - even if you got a job picking up balls on the range, you'd be able to practice quite a bit, probably for free
