I have only practiced at the shooting range and I have never stepped foot on a golf course. How do you know where to start and how do you know what hole to advance to next?

I’m starting a job soon at a golf course and they want to take me out and make sure I can properly mow a green and “see if I have it”. Is there any tips on how I can do a better job, or anything of that sort? Thanks in advance

I have just started learning to play golf, and was recently given a golf bag and some old clubs. I was given 3 through 9 irons, a PW and a putter. What do I need other than a driver? Do I need a 3 wood or a SW? Also, how is the best way to go about getting old clubs that are good for beginners?
